James Dyer

Don't let the angelic face of this blond choir boy fool you - he's a true adventurer at heart. Among his many other exploits, James cycled the West Coast of the USA in 2006, braving hundreds of miles of American highways by day and sharing a one-man tent with Jonas by night. These feats are clearly worthy of great respect.

As the team's Transport Officer, James has exceeded all expectations, securing us our beloved Morris in fantastic working order. However, his deep affection for the car is starting to worry us a little...

Born and raised in Oxford, James now studies music at Trinity College Dublin

Likes: Bell-ringing, Proper Beer, Morris Minors

Dislikes: Cats, Lager, The Irish Sea

Jonas Muir Wood

This mop-top biologist from Abingdon is the 'sensible' one in the group. Although as team photographer, videographer, web master and all-round Mr. Fix-it, he really needs to be. Jonas' itchy feet have led him all over the world, from trekking the Alps to diving on the Great Barrier Reef. Hopefully he will find Mongolia somewhat warmer and drier.

Jonas is now studying Biological Sciences at Oxford.

Likes: Ballroom dancing, Mountains, Punting

Dislikes: Early mornings, American drivers, Statistics

Sarah Fordham

Sarah is the 'token' member of the group: Token female, token foreigner (born and raised in Singapore). We hope she will boost our appeal to a wider demographic. Apart from that, she also has her uses as Team Scribe and Fundraiser.

Sarah's travels through the Asia Pacific have led her to such extreme activities as bungee jumping and cage diving. So driving through a desert should be a doddle.

She has spent the last 3 years studying Human Sciences in Oxford.

Likes: Chocolate, Musicals

Dislikes: Meat,

We have teamed up with two fellow adventurers who will be driving a VW Polo of a 1991 vintage - we will be collaborating on charity fundraising efforts, hopefully driving in convoy and inevitably having endless arguments about whose is the more reliable, attractive and generally better car. These intrepid fellows are-

Dominic Waite

Dom was born in early 1987 and grew up some time after this.

Between then and now he went to school with three of his fellow team members, then added to his repertoire of posh sports by learning to sail, scuba-dive and be insufferably smug in his gap year.

He owns a 2000 (honest) Clio Sport that works infrequently, a 1997 British Shorthair that never worked in its life and a pair of skis.

None of which are likely to be useful come rally-time.

Dom is currently biding his time before starting an International Relations course at Royal Holloway in the Autumn - around 3 months too late for our purposes.

Likes: Sunny Afternoons, Boats and Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc

Dislikes: Wasted Energy, Buses and Wet Seaweed

Peter Lyons

Pete's taste for adventure was piqued on sailing holidays in the eastern Mediterranean and on continental road trips in the last few years. Responsible for equipment and route planning Pete has suggested a route taking us through southern Europe, Turkey, Iran and under the Caspian.

When not planning the Rally Pete's hobbies include presenting a popular Thursday night slot on student radio, skiing and cycling and has been known to try his hand at ball room dancing and badminton.

Peter is currently studying Physics with a minor in Political Theory at the University of Southampton.

Likes: Electronic Music, Physics, Scenery, Volkswagen

Dislikes: Empty Pint Glasses, Physics
